Nestled in the heart of southwest Minneapolis, Knox Presbyterian Church has been a beacon of faith and community since 1907. Knox Presbyterian Church isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to the enduring power of faith, community, and service. The church’s mission is simple yet profound: to glorify God and bless others through Him. More specifically, Knox Presbyterian Church aims to embody and extend the life and love of Jesus Christ to the people of southwest Minneapolis and beyond. Their vision is summed up in two powerful words: “Christ-Centered, Bible-Based.” Originally, the congregation met in a humble tent at 43rd and Wentworth. As their numbers grew, they moved to a small chapel in 1909, eventually settling at their current location at 4747 Lyndale Avenue South in 1913. The neo-Gothic limestone building stands as a testament to their enduring presence. Knox Presbyterian Church is more than just a place of worship. It’s a vibrant hub, woven into the fabric of the community. Around 70 members consider this church their extended family. They support each other through life’s joys and sorrows. They share meals, offer prayers, and provide comfort in times of need. Knox Presbyterian Church also extends its hand to the wider community. They partner with Community Emergency Services, a local food shelf, providing vital support and volunteering countless hours. They also collaborate with St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, feeding the working poor through Mobile Loaves Twin Cities. Even individuals battling addiction find solace and support within the church’s walls. The church has a rich history of supporting missions, both locally and internationally. Many of its members have even dedicated their lives to full-time mission work around the globe. From its humble beginnings in a tent to its current neo-Gothic home, Knox Presbyterian Church continues to live out its mission. It strives to be a growing, vital, and dynamic community of faith. Knox Presbyterian Church embraces people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life, inviting everyone to experience the love and grace of God.
