Kingston Grammar School

In 1561, Queen Elizabeth I laid the foundation for what we now know as Kingston Grammar School. She granted a royal charter, officially establishing the “Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth”. But Kingston Grammar School’s story begins much earlier, stretching back to the 13th century. Imagine Kingston teeming with merchants, tradesmen, and the murmur of daily life.
