Founded in 1985 King’s Church London has a rich history. It’s a vibrant evangelical church. King’s Church Centre is located in Catford South East London. It’s a significant part of the community.

King’s Church wasn’t always King’s Church. It started as two separate entities Catford Hill Baptist Church and Allerford Pentecostal Church. They merged in 1985. This merger formed the foundation of what is now King’s Church London. The church played a part in Charles Spurgeon’s vision to reach London.

In 1995 Steve and Deb Tibbert took leadership. The church then had around 200 members. Under their leadership King’s Church experienced significant growth. A major building extension King’s Centre 2000 was completed in 2000. This accommodated the expanding congregation.

The church expanded further. A second meeting started in 2005 a third in 2008. More buildings were added in Downham and Lee. By 2011 King’s Church had become a multi-site church. They had over 1000 attendees each Sunday. The name changed to King’s Church London reflecting its broader reach.

The church’s impact extends beyond its services. They’ve been involved in community initiatives. The Jericho Road Project assists the homeless and disadvantaged. King’s Church also planted churches in other areas. Beacon Church in Streatham Emmanuel Church in Greenwich are examples. They sponsored ChristChurch London and sent pastors to Chatham.

Over the years King’s Church London has continued to grow. In 2018 they had over 1500 attendees each Sunday. They launched Vision 2030 and opened a fourth site in Beckenham. The church has faced challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Services went online. Despite these challenges King’s Church London continues to serve its community and its members. It remains a vital part of the religious landscape of London. It’s a place of worship community outreach and spiritual growth.
