Kererū Park Campus has a rich history. It has been part of the Papakura community since 1954. It was originally known as Papakura South School. The name changed to Kererū Park Campus. This reflects its unique identity and values.

This campus provides education for Years 1 to 8. It is not just a school. It is a place where students thrive. Māori students make up a significant part of the school. They have many opportunities to learn about their language. They also learn about their cultural identity.

The school’s values are Aroha Manaakitanga and Rangatiratanga. Aroha is the catalyst. It drives decisions. It means loving others and what you do. Manaakitanga and Rangatiratanga are a result of Aroha. These values create a caring and supportive environment.

Kererū Park Campus consists of 9 Akomanga classrooms. Three are Rūmaki Reo. Three are Reorua Akomanga. The school also hosts a Rosehill School satellite class.

The school has a Kohanga Reo called Te Kohanga Reo o Pukeroihi. It is located on site. This Kohanga supports local whānau families.

Kererū Park Campus is not a zoned school. Priority is given to those seeking Rūmaki reo. The school also prioritizes the local Kohanga Reo. It also supports Reorua Bilingual Māori students.

In 2019, the Education Review Office ERO noted the school’s vision. Tu Rangatira means Stand Tall Stand Proud Stand Strong. The school values Aroha Manaakitanga and Rangatiratanga. These values guide the school’s strategic focus. This focus includes mana mokopuna and mana wairua. It also includes mana tangata and mana reo. The focus extends to mana tikanga and mana mātauranaga Māori. It also covers mana ā kura.

ERO found that most students achieve well. They achieve at their expected national curriculum levels. This includes reading writing and mathematics. Writing is a challenge for the school.
