Originally opened as Kentish and Camden Town National School in 1815 Kentish Town Church of England Primary School has a rich history. It began in Great College Street now Royal College Street. Can you believe it?
The National Society established many schools in London. These schools educated the poor pupils of the quickly growing local area. This was a very important mission.
Kentish Town Church of England Primary School moved to its current Islip Street location in 1849. The Bishop of London opened the school. It then provided education for both girls and boys in the local area.
Today Kentish Town Church of England Primary School continues its commitment to education. It serves children from ages 3 to 11. The school has a capacity of 236 pupils. Currently 232 pupils attend.
Kentish Town Church of England Primary School is a voluntary aided school with a Church of England religious character. The school operates according to the Diocese of London. It welcomes children from Christian families and other faiths. The school’s values are love equality and compassion. These values are underpinned by the parable of The Good Samaritan.
James Vincent Humphries is the headteacher. He has served since September 1 2015. His leadership helps guide the school’s vision.
