Today Kenneth Stainbank Nature Reserve thrives under the care of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. Explore its coastal forest and grasslands. Spot wildlife like zebra impala and bushbuck. Built by Dering Stainbank it still holds many original furnishings. Antique silverware and family portraits offer a glimpse into the past. Sadly the castle is not open to the public now. The family usufruct ended in 2018. The property now belongs to the state.

Another hidden treasure is the Mary Stainbank Memorial Gallery. Mary Stainbank a contemporary of Henry Moore was a talented artist. Her personal works and papers are on display. You can visit the gallery but you need to book beforehand.
