The German military occupied the barracks during the war. Then in 1944 a bombing raid caused significant damage. Eighteen soldiers died. Two stable buildings and a workshop were destroyed. Today Kasernescenen supports research and education. It provides a space for students to flourish. Students working on their theses can even apply for assigned study spaces. It’s a far cry from its military past. Yet the echoes of those days remain. You can feel the weight of history within these walls. The building has modern equipment. It helps with the digital transformation of media. It handles modern event technology. Students can book rooms through email. There’s even a dedicated contact for music theater media and AV equipment.
