Juying Secondary School

Stepping onto the grounds of Juying Secondary School, one can almost hear the echoes of its vibrant history. Juying Secondary School first opened its doors in June 1995. The initial cohort of Secondary One students began their journey at Pioneer Secondary School. They spent six months there while their permanent home, the former Jurong Institute, underwent renovations. On June 12, 1995, Juying Secondary School officially moved into its current location at 33 Jurong West Street 91. The official opening ceremony took place on July 18, 1997. Juying Secondary School expanded in June 1999. A new classroom block and an IT block were added. The IT block housed two computer labs and three IT resource rooms. This expansion allowed Juying Secondary School to transition to a single-session format. From December 2009 to July 2012, the school underwent a significant upgrade through the Programme for REbuilding and IMproving Existing schools (PRIME). This project brought modern facilities to the campus. These included a stunning dance studio with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. An indoor sports hall and a synthetic soccer field were also added. Juying Secondary School’s dedication to holistic education is reflected in its specialized programs. The Applied Learning Programme (ALP) focuses on languages and humanities. It aims to develop confident communicators through oracy skills programs. The Learning for Life Programme (LLP) revolves around music and the performing arts. Known as “iACE@Juying” (I Appreciate, I Create, I Exhibit at Juying), this program fosters aesthetic appreciation, artistic development, and opportunities for creative expression. The school’s motto, “Together We Will Succeed,” encapsulates the spirit of collaboration and achievement that defines Juying Secondary School. The school crest symbolizes the key to success through knowledge, technology, and harmony. The key represents the “J” for Juying, the book signifies the “Y” for knowledge, and the gears represent the “S” for technology and harmony. The school colors, yellow and blue, stand for brightness, hope, success, confidence, loyalty, and stability. In 2015, Juying Secondary School celebrated its 20th anniversary. The theme was “Living the Legacy, Nurturing for Tomorrow”. This milestone marked two decades of growth and dedication to education. Juying Secondary School continues to shape young minds and empower students to reach their full potential.
