Step back in time with me, right here at Jürgenshof. This traditional Bremen guesthouse whispers tales of centuries past. Jürgenshof stands as a testament to Bremen’s rich history. It is nestled in the heart of a green oasis.

Originally, Jürgenshof was a humble shepherd’s farm. It belonged to the Paulskloster. In 1560, it became part of the Bremer Domstruktur. By 1803, the city of Bremen owned it. Bremen passed the farm to the Remberti-Hospital.

Fast forward to 1810. A new building emerged. It housed a summer tavern. In 1870, Johann Jürgens acquired the property through marriage. The Sparkasse Bremen took over the estate as a foundation in 1969.

But time takes its toll. In 1971 and 1972, Jürgenshof underwent extensive renovations. Today, a tenant runs it as a restaurant.

The charm of Jürgenshof lies in its history and setting. Elegant furniture fills the rooms. Tasteful linens adorn the tables. Loving decorations add to the ambiance. This half-timbered house sits on a gentle rise. It is located in a recreational area between Osterdeich and Weser.

Its location is convenient too. It’s only a 15-minute walk to the Weser Stadium.

Picture this. It is a balmy summer evening. You are sitting on the rustic-elegant terrace. Your gaze sweeps over the marsh landscape. Horses graze peacefully. You savor grilled gambas. A light salad complements the dish. A well-chilled white wine completes the experience.

The Fitzke family currently runs Jürgenshof. The rooms can accommodate up to 80 guests. They are decorated with different themes. The Hayloft features country-style beam constructions. It evokes the building’s history. The Friesenzimmer displays blue and white colors. It exudes a cozy Frisian charm. The fireplace area is perfect for celebrations.

Did you know? Jürgenshof even has its own parking spaces.

For over three decades, Jürgenshof has also been home to a unique project. Since 1986, young people have partnered to ensure animals are kept in appropriate conditions on the adjacent horse pasture.

Jürgenshof connects us to Bremen’s past. From its humble beginnings as a shepherd’s farm to its current life as a restaurant, Jürgenshof remains a cherished landmark.
