The interior space was radically transformed with a contemporary approach. The institution has two exhibition spaces. The central ground floor hall has regained natural light. Windows that had been walled up for years were reopened. A community space was created on the ground floor. It will host programs and museum education activities. A special feature is the open space between the two floors. It was created by breaking up the floor structure.

During the renovation an original ornament was found above the main entrance. This fragment has been restored to its former glory. It enhances the museum and the Grand Boulevard.

The museum’s professional team has been active. They have been collecting preserving and making accessible the material memories. These memories relate to the nearly 250-year history of J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros. They also gather personal stories connected to the district. The museum aims to actively involve local residents and communities in shaping its collection.

The J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1rosi M\u00fazeum offered over 100 free programs. These included temporary outdoor exhibitions city walks museum education activities. They also provided opportunities for creation.

The completed renovation allowed the institution to open its first permanent exhibition. It is based on its own collection and research in autumn 2024.
