Why did Rev Willie F Jordan Sr choose the name Jordan River Missionary Baptist Church? I can’t say for sure. But I can tell you about this church’s inspiring beginning.

Jordan River Missionary Baptist Church started with a vision. That vision began on January 2 1973. Rev Willie F Jordan Sr formed a mission. It started with eleven members at 730 pm. They organized Jordan Temple Missionary Baptist Church. It was located at 1532 S Pulaski Road in Chicago. Three years later the church relocated to 900 N Lockwood in Chicago.

Pastor Willie F Jordan Sr yielded to the call of the Lord on January 12 1993. He flew back home to be with the Lord. It was a sad moment in Jordan Temple’s history. Pastor Jordan worked untiringly for his seat in the kingdom. He deserved his crown of righteousness.

On February 28 1993 Rev Stephen Richardson became Pastor. With the mantle on his shoulders he continued the teaching of Jesus Christ. He continued to preach the gospel. Jordan Temple relocated from 900 N Lockwood in Chicago. Now it operates from its Hillside campus. Believers and worshipers attend each week.

The Incredible Life Center building is adjacent at 4431 W Roosevelt Rd. It is part of the Jordan Temple Hillside campus. A community comes together here. They celebrate all aspects of life.

Jordan Temple Church is a place where people can meet Jesus. Believers can engage in a life-giving community. Everyone is welcome. The church believes in creating a space. People can have authentic encounters with Christ. They can discover their gifts. They can use them for Him. Come be a part of this community. Discover God’s purpose for your life.
