A wave of fervent energy washes over you as you stand before Jesus Vive Church. Its story begins not in grand architecture but in a humble old cinema room in Piedade a Rio de Janeiro suburb. In 1985 Apostle Dr Miguel Angelo da Silva Ferreira founded the Evangelical Church of the Living Christ. This modest beginning blossomed. In 1988 a splendid piece of land was purchased. This became the site of the International Headquarters.
The Jesus Vive Church wasn’t just built; it was a testament to faith. By 1992 the magnificent Cathedral Building stood complete. It could hold 5000 people. Attached were administrative and religious education buildings spanning three floors. A smaller chapel the Chapel of the Apostolic Mission of the Grace of God was added. This could accommodate 1000. The church wasn’t merely a place of worship. It was a hub of spiritual growth and community service.
The Apostolic Ministry at Jesus Vive Church focuses on the Gospel of the Grace of God. People learn about the true God confess His Word and live by faith. Sunday services are held at 9 AM and 6 PM. Wednesday evenings feature Life Excellence services. This ministry stands independent contributing to the Protestant Reformation. The church also has a vibrant Ministry of Prayer. Led by Bishop André Barbosa and his wife Bishop Cristiane Barbosa it gathers church members for joyful services full of signs and wonders.
Every service begins with praise and worship. This prepares the congregation to receive the sermon always guided by the Holy Spirit. The teachings are then transformed into books and booklets. These are offered to the community and beyond. The church also has Sociability Brothers men and women trained to welcome newcomers and offer guidance. A Social Assistance Ministry blesses countless lives with meals and clothing. The Good Samaritan Ministry provides regular food baskets to church members and others in need.
