Who knew a simple Bible study could blossom into a global movement? Right here, at the Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center, the seeds of faith were planted. It began with a handful of businessmen seeking spiritual guidance from Brother Gerry Holloway. These meetings, held in his Bel-Air home, quickly expanded. Wives joined, the numbers grew, and soon the Holloway’s house was overflowing with seekers. Recognizing the burgeoning thirst for God’s word, they established Sunday worship services. The Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center, or Word for the World Christian Fellowship as it was first known, chose a name reflecting their expansive mission. In November 1980, a group of 40 gathered at the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati for the inaugural service. The Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center’s early days were marked by rapid growth. They quickly graduated from the Skytop to the Grand Ballroom, even holding services at the Where Else Disco when necessary. Ministries sprouted, catering to various groups: Music, Ladies, Children’s, Youth, Young Adults, Couples, Men’s, and Singles. Over 25 ministries developed, nurturing the growing congregation. The Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center expanded its reach beyond Sunday services. They established the International Christian Academy in the early 1980s to provide Bible-based education. Outreach programs extended to Bicol in 1984 and Hong Kong in 1986, signaling the start of their international presence. The Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center eventually outgrew the Hotel Intercontinental and moved to the Rizal Theater, filling every seat. With the demolition of the Rizal Theater, the Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center embarked on building its own sanctuary in Salcedo Village. This permanent home, dedicated in January 1990, reunited the congregation under one roof. The Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center’s legacy is one of remarkable growth and global impact. Over 300 churches have been established worldwide, carrying the message of faith across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and the U.S. From humble beginnings, the Jesus Christ The World Christian Fellowship Center has truly become a word for the world.
