Could a train station become a point of pride for an entire community? Jatake, located in Pagedangan, Tangerang, Banten, is poised to become just that a KRL station that the residents of BSD City and surrounding areas will celebrate.

Jatake is more than just a transit point. It represents creative financing. It showcases a collaboration between PT Kereta Api Indonesia and PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk through Sinar Mas Land. The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on March 30, 2024. Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi highlighted the importance of such partnerships. He emphasized integrating transit-oriented development with railway systems.

Construction on Jatake began in January 2024. The target completion date is mid-2025. The station sits at KM 37+045 on the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung route. Each platform will stretch 250 meters long and 6 meters wide.

Sinar Mas Land reports that the station covers 2,435 square meters. It will transform into a three-story building spanning 3,000 square meters.

Didiek Hartantyo, CEO of KAI, noted the Rangkasbitung KRL line already manages 205 trips using 21 trainsets. During peak hours, there are 61 morning trips and 57 evening trips. He expressed appreciation for Sinar Mas Land’s initiative. The initiative prioritizes KRL access for residents and visitors around BSD City.

Christopher Siswanto Adisaputro, CEO of Strategic Land Bank Sinar Mas Land, believes the collaboration with KAI is strategic. He anticipates optimal development for Jatake and the surrounding BSD area. He hopes the station will improve passenger distribution.

Christopher explained that Jatake station would ease access to Jakarta. It will also help residents of Tangerang Regency. This improved access is projected to boost the local economy. He also noted that increased public transport use reduces carbon footprint and air pollution.

Arkonin, an architectural firm, designed Jatake in a modern tropical style. The design emphasizes functional space. The station incorporates green building principles. Natural air circulation features in public areas. Solar panels promote efficient electricity use.

The three-story building is designed for KRL passenger activities. There will be commercial zones and PT KAI offices. The station will also feature parking for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles.

Once finished, PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk via Sinar Mas Land will hand over Jatake to PT KAI. KAI will then manage the station’s operations. The station is projected to serve 20,000 passengers daily.

Jatake symbolizes progress. It embodies collaboration. It offers a glimpse into a future where public transportation is efficient and sustainable. Keep an eye on Jatake. It will soon be a vital hub. It will connect communities and drive economic growth in the Tangerang region.
