The zoo attracts thousands of visitors each year. It is the largest park in Jakarta. On January 1 2015 it recorded a record-breaking number of visitors. 186456 people explored its wonders that day. The zoo continues to strive for excellence. In 2015 plans were unveiled to upgrade the zoo to international standards. This was planned to enhance both animal welfare and visitor experience.
