ITB STIKOM Bali

In 2000, a group of educators in Bali noticed a glaring disparity. Information and communication technology (ICT) was rapidly expanding, yet Bali lacked a dedicated university to teach these crucial skills. This observation sparked the genesis of ITB STIKOM Bali. The founders, including Prof. Dr. Made Bandem, Dr. Dadang Hermawan, Drs. Ida Bagus Dharmadiaksa, and Drs. Satria Dharma, envisioned an institution that would equip Bali’s youth for the digital age. ITB STIKOM Bali, formerly known as STMIK STIKOM Bali, officially opened its doors in 2002. The Indonesian Ministry of National Education granted the institution its permit, number 157/D/O/2002, on August 10th. Initially, ITB STIKOM Bali offered two programs: Computer Systems (S1) and Information Management (D3). The campus, located in Denpasar, became a hub for aspiring tech professionals. In 2009, recognizing the growing demand for specialized IT expertise, ITB STIKOM Bali added a new program: Information Systems (S1). The university’s commitment to providing quality education and its alignment with industry needs led to significant growth. By 2015, the student population soared to over 6,000, with nearly 4,000 alumni contributing to Bali’s burgeoning tech sector. ITB STIKOM Bali didn’t stop at local impact. It fostered collaborations with government agencies, private companies, and universities both within Indonesia and internationally. This global outlook further solidified ITB STIKOM Bali’s reputation as a leading institution. The university now has campuses in Jimbaran and Abiansemal, extending its reach and impact across Bali. From a seed of an idea in 2000 to a thriving institution, ITB STIKOM Bali stands as a testament to the power of vision and the transformative potential of education. It continues to shape Bali’s technological landscape, empowering students to become leaders in the digital world.
