From a single classroom with just twenty students in 2001, Istanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi, also known as ICU, has blossomed into a vibrant hub of learning. This led to the establishment of the Dersaadet Chamber of Commerce in 1882, which later evolved into the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. The proposal to establish the university came in 1992 from İsmail Özarslan during an Istanbul Chamber of Commerce General Assembly.
