From its humble beginnings in a loaned church building. The International School Manila stands tall today. Founded in 1920 as the American School. This institution has witnessed remarkable growth and transformation.
Initially established by American and British parents. The school served a small group of students. It was located at 606 Taft Avenue. Later it moved several times. These locations included M H Del Pilar Street and Padre Faura Street. In 1936 the campus relocated to Donada Street Pasay.
World War II disrupted the school’s operations. It closed in 1942 reopening in September 1946. A significant move occurred in 1961 to Bel-Air Makati. This marked a period of expansion and growth. The name changed to International School Manila in 1970. This reflected its evolving international character.
A major milestone was achieving accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges WASC. The same year the school joined the Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asian Schools IASAS. In 2002 ISM relocated to its present location in Bonifacio Global City. This modern campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities.
The International School Manila’s curriculum is rigorous. It offers a K-12 education based on the American system. It incorporates inquiry-based learning at the elementary level.
