Thanks to generous funding from the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the Instrumental Analysis Center houses an impressive arsenal of 43 large instruments. Each instrument is worth over 0.4 million RMB. The total value exceeds a staggering 85 million RMB. These aren’t just any instruments. They delve into the very building blocks of our world. They analyze organic and inorganic materials, even biomacromolecules. They explore structure, composition, chemical states, physical properties, phase changes, and surface topography. The Instrumental Analysis Center is a hive of activity. A team of 12 expert administrators and analysts, nine of whom hold doctorates, manage this cutting-edge facility. They operate within a modern, three-story laboratory spanning nearly 2,200 square meters. Beyond research, the center plays a crucial role in education. Undergraduate and graduate students gain hands-on experience here. They learn to conduct independent research. They even have 24/7 access to most instruments.
