Thirty-two students. Thirty-four students. These were the humble beginnings of the Instituto de estudios superiores Huixquilucan. In 1997 this institution started in the CONALEP Huixquilucan facilities. It was a far cry from the institution it is today.

The Instituto de estudios superiores Huixquilucan was established by a government decree. This decree made it an official public institution. It had its own legal personality and assets. The Instituto began offering degrees in Biology and Civil Engineering. It quickly grew. By 1999 it had its own building. This is now known as Building A.

Over the years the Instituto de estudios superiores Huixquilucan expanded. It added more degrees to its offerings. In 2003 it offered Industrial Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering. Then in 2004 Administration was added to the list of available degrees. The institute continued its expansion. It added Mechatronics Engineering in 2010 and Gastronomy in 2016.

The Instituto de estudios superiores Huixquilucan’s growth is remarkable. In 2022 it had 344 students enrolled. The graduating class had 93 students. Most graduates were in the areas of Social Sciences and Law Education and Business Administration. Fifteen students graduated that year. Social sciences and law was the most popular major among graduates. The institute also awarded 42 degrees that year. Education Business Administration and Social Sciences and Law were also the most popular areas for degrees. The Instituto de estudios superiores Huixquilucan is a testament to the power of education. It started small and grew into a significant educational institution in the State of Mexico. It shows that with determination and vision anything is possible.
