The Institute for Regeneration and Repair incorporates three leading research centers. These are the Centre for Regenerative Medicine, the Centre for Inflammation Research and the Centre for Reproductive Health. These centers work collaboratively. They focus on regenerative medicine, inflammation and reproductive health.
The Institute for Regeneration and Repair addresses major diseases. These include cancer, heart and lung disease and liver failure. Scientists also study diabetes and degenerative diseases. Multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s are included. The Princess Royal opened the IRR South building. This world-class facility cost £110m. It houses more than 500 scientists. They tackle rheumatoid arthritis, lung cancer and reproductive health issues.
The IRR South building has open-plan laboratories. The innovative Chemistry Hub speeds up research. It translates laboratory findings to drug treatments more quickly. IRR South fosters collaboration across disciplines. It provides space for cutting-edge research technologies. The IRR North building opened in 2012. Together, IRR North and South house 1000 staff and students.
T-SQUARED maintains the IRR North GMP facility. This facility includes seven cleanrooms. These range from grade B to D. T-SQUARED handles BMS controls and validation. They also manage air flow and HVAC. They provide 24/7 support.
The Institute’s commitment extends to the community. They have a long-standing partnership with Castlebrae Community Campus. Students from Castlebrae designed and crafted a wooden table. It takes pride of place in the new building’s boardroom. The Institute for Regeneration and Repair is advancing medicine. It brings hope to many.
