What if education met social impact? That’s Institut STIAMI in Jakarta. It’s more than just a university. Institut STIAMI began as Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Mandala Indonesia STIAMI. Prof. Dr. Safri Nurmantu founded it in 1983. He was a senior lecturer at FISIP UI. Initially, STIAMI offered S-1 programs in fiscal and commercial administration.
In 2015, STIAMI became Institut Ilmu Sosial dan Manajemen STIAMI. STIAMI is now a brand name. Prof. Dr. Hj. Sylviana Murni leads STIAMI as Rector. She operates under Yayasan ILOMATA. Dr. H.M Syahrial Yusuf leads the foundation. He is also the founder of LP3I.
Institut STIAMI started on January 27, 1983. Senior lecturers from FISIP UI established it. Yayasan ILOMATA oversees the higher education institution. STIAMI is located in Jakarta. It was founded on July 14, 1979. STIAMI offers diploma, bachelor’s, and postgraduate programs. In 1989, STIAMI gained registered status. The Ministry of Education and Culture recognized it. Bambang Triantoro signed the decree. STIAMI achieved recognized status in 1993. In 1998, the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education accredited STIAMI. It earned Accreditation B for its S1 programs.
STIAMI then introduced Diploma III programs in 2000. In 2003, STIAMI improved to Accreditation A. This was for its S1 programs in State/Public Administration. It also gained Accreditation A for S1 programs in Commercial/Business Administration. STIAMI maintained its Accreditation A status in 2010. This was for the S1 program in Commercial/Business Administration. In 2013, STIAMI again received Accreditation A. This was for the S1 program in State/Public Administration.
In 2015, Yayasan ILOMATA gained government trust. It was allowed to run a larger university. This included diverse programs in administration and social sciences. The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education approved the change. Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Mandala Indonesia became Institut Ilmu Sosial dan Manajemen STIAMI. Four new study programs were added.
Institut STIAMI offers ten study programs. These programs cover various levels and accreditations. Diploma 3 programs include Taxation and Business Administration. Diploma 4 includes Accounting. Bachelor’s programs include Public Administration and Business Administration. Other bachelor’s programs are Logistics Management and Communication Management. There are also Hospitality and Tourism programs. Postgraduate programs include Administrative Science and Communication Science.
Institut STIAMI has campuses in several locations. These campuses are in and outside Jakarta. The main campus is at Jalan Pangkalan Asem No. 55, Central Jakarta. It houses the Rectorate. The postgraduate campus is at Jalan Let. Jend. Suprapto No. 504, Central Jakarta. The vocational campus is at Jalan Tipar Cakung No. 81A, East Jakarta. Other campuses are in Bekasi, Cikarang, Pasar Rebo, Depok and Tangerang.
Student activities at Institut STIAMI are divided into two groups. These are Student Government Organizations OPMAWA and Student Organizations ORMAWA. OPMAWA includes the Student Representative Council and the Student Executive Board. ORMAWA includes Islamic Student Participation LDK PARMAIS. There is also the Oikoumene Fellowship PO STIAMI. Other groups include the Art Workshop, Basketball Club, and English Club. There is also the Football Club and Student Cooperative. Other organizations are the Communication Forum, Volunteer Corps, and Anti-Corruption Specialization. Pesona Suara Mandala PSM, Tax Department Association, and Business Department Association are also present. The Communication Forum for Students and Pupils and Nature Lovers are also present.
Many notable alumni have graduated from Institut STIAMI. These include Mohammad Guruh Irianto Soekarnoputra. He is the son of President Soekarno and a member of the Indonesian Parliament. Ir. Afriansyah Noor served as Deputy Minister of Manpower. Dr. H. Rosjonsyah Syahili Sibarani was the Vice Governor of Bengkulu.
