A vibrant hub of learning stands before us. This is the Institut Sains dan Teknologi Al-Kamal. It is known as ISTA. This institution has been shaping minds since its establishment on April 22, 1989.
ISTA is the vision of Yayasan Pondok Pesantren Al Kamal. This foundation was formed in 1987 by Muslim intellectuals, scholars, government figures, and community leaders. They sought to contribute to national development. Education and health services were their focus.
The foundation aimed to create morally upright Muslims. They wanted individuals with broad knowledge. They would embrace national identity. They would become independent and skilled. Integrating religious knowledge and technology was their goal.
ISTA plays its part by offering various educational units. These include schools and even a hospital. The Institut Sains dan Teknologi Al-Kamal itself is a key component.
The campus strives to develop its physical infrastructure. Educational programs are constantly evolving. Research and community service are prioritized. The core scientific pattern of the Institut Sains dan Teknologi Al-Kamal focuses on the environment.
ISTA began its educational journey in 1989. This was marked by official recognition for its departments. The campus has two faculties. They are the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Information Technology and Visual Communication.
The Faculty of Science and Technology offers programs like Chemical Engineering. Pharmacy, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering are offered too. The Faculty of Information Technology and Visual Communication includes Visual Communication Design. Information Systems and Informatics Engineering are included too.
ISTA gained recognized status for several departments in 1993. By 1995, four departments achieved accredited status. Further accreditation followed in later years.
In 2006, the Institut Sains dan Teknologi Al-Kamal boasted eight study programs. By 2010, ISTA renewed its operational permits for all eight programs.
