Ever wondered what it takes to become an aerospace engineer? Right here stands the Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées IPSA a testament to ambition and innovation.

Founded in 1961 by Michel Cazin Maurice Pradier and Paul Lefort IPSA began with a modest twenty students. These pioneers laid the foundation for a prestigious institution dedicated to aerospace engineering. Their initial four-year program culminated in the first graduating class of 1965. That same year the IPSA alumni association was formed a bond that continues to connect generations of aerospace professionals.

The early years saw IPSA steadily grow. In 1982 a significant milestone was reached. The first student trip took place. It was to the European Space Agency center in Guyana. This marked the beginning of IPSA’s commitment to international collaboration and real-world experience. The institute experienced a period of growth and change. Henri Hertert an IPSA alumnus and Air France pilot purchased the school in 1987. In 1989 IPSA moved to the impressive Les Mercuriales towers in Bagnolet. It remained there for ten years.

Financial challenges in the late 1990s led to a pivotal acquisition by IONIS Education Group in 1999. This merger proved transformative. It stabilized IPSA’s finances. It also opened up new opportunities for growth and expansion. The relocation to Le Kremlin-Bicêtre brought IPSA closer to EPITA. This marked the beginning of a new era of collaboration and shared resources.

Further recognition came in 2005. The Master’s degree issued by IPSA received official French state recognition at the highest level. This achievement solidified IPSA’s standing as a leading institution in aerospace education. IPSA continued to expand. A second campus opened in Toulouse in 2007. The school also joined the Erasmus program. This broadened international collaborations and opportunities for student exchange.

IPSA’s journey has been one of continuous improvement and expansion. Through its many campus locations and partnerships. IPSA provides its students with a wide range of opportunities. They gain both theoretical knowledge and valuable real-world experience. Today IPSA stands as a symbol of excellence in aerospace education. It continues to prepare a new generation of engineers. They will be ready to shape the future of air and space travel. The motto is clear L’air l’espace l’IPSA The air space IPSA.
