ISSEP is a private higher education school. It was founded in 2018. The founders are Thibaut Monnier and Marion Maréchal. Marion Maréchal served as its director until 2022. The Institut des sciences sociales économiques et politiques offers both business school-type management education and general culture.
The Institut des sciences sociales économiques et politiques is located in the Confluence district of Lyon. The school covers 360 square meters. Patrick Libbrecht is the honorary president. He is the former CEO of the agri-food company Materne. Sylvain Roussillon chairs the ISSEP office. He also manages the communication for Marion Maréchal. Pierre Meurin is the director of studies. Christophe Bentz is the secretary general.
ISSEP is structured as a non-profit association. It was initially funded by secret donations. The goal was to reach financial equilibrium after a few years. Marion Maréchal’s name is a key draw for the school. It is a private school operating outside of state control.
The Institut des sciences sociales économiques et politiques delivers a two-year program. It is called a master’s degree in political science and project management. This program is open to students with a Bac+3 or Bac+4 level diploma. Admission is based on an application and a two-hour exam. Half of the teaching focuses on people and project management. The Institut des sciences sociales économiques et politiques also hosts conferences. Laurent Obertone Ivan Rioufol Éric Zemmour and François Bousquet were among the first guests.
The Institut des sciences sociales économiques et politiques opened a branch in Madrid in October 2020. The school has also announced partnerships. These are with the State University of Saint Petersburg and the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon.
