What if I told you there’s a place where the pursuit of knowledge never surrenders? That place is Institut Bisnis Nusantara, right here in Jakarta. IBN, as it’s sometimes called, has a fascinating history, evolving from a small institution known as GS FAME, founded in 1986 by Dasuki Angkosubroto of the Gunung Sewu Group. Originally, GS FAME stood for Gunung Sewu Foundation for the Advancement of Management and Economics. In 1991, GS FAME transformed into STIE Gunung Sewu (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi). Then, in 1996, it underwent another name change, becoming STIE Nusantara. Finally, in 2008, it reached its current form as Institut Bisnis Nusantara, thanks to a decree from the Ministry of National Education. Institut Bisnis Nusantara isn’t just a name; it’s a testament to its continuous growth and adaptation. Today, IBN boasts a diverse range of programs. These include Accounting, Management, Communications, Computer Science, and English. They even have a Master’s program in Management, covering specializations like Business, Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources. The campus also offers international programs in partnership with universities like the University of Canberra, PSBA, and Myongji University, among others. Institut Bisnis Nusantara even has a lively student life. It’s home to various student associations, including HIMAK (Accounting), HIMAN (Management), HIMAKOM (Computer Science), and HIKOM (Communications). There are also plenty of extracurricular activities to choose from, ranging from sports clubs like basketball and futsal to arts clubs like Grafitty and the traditional dance group SINATERA. Even a nature lovers’ club, NUSAPALA, and a student radio station, UVON Radio, are part of the vibrant campus life. So, as you stand here, before the Institut Bisnis Nusantara, remember its journey. It’s a story of transformation, a commitment to education, and a dedication to shaping future business leaders.
