Inesa Argentina

Opened in 1998, Inesa Argentina’s San Juan plant hums with the activity of aerosol can production. This isn’t just any factory. Inesa Argentina has a rich history, stretching back over a century to 1899. It began with a company called Centenera, producing tinplate containers in Buenos Aires. Centenera later evolved into Corandes S.A. Fast forward to 1995, Inesa Argentina, part of the Chilean holding company Corpora, acquired Corandes’s assets. This marked a new era of modernization and product development for Inesa Argentina. The company expanded further in 2003. Inesa Argentina opened a plant in San Rafael to supply the agricultural, dairy, and edible oil industries in and around Mendoza. Inesa Argentina’s growth continued with the 2007 acquisition of Crown Packaging Argentina. This increased their production capacity and led to the relocation of their administration to the Pilar Industrial Park. In 2014, Inesa Argentina began operations in a new in-house plant in Pavon Arriba, Santa Fe, producing packaging for vegetables and legumes. This operation was transferred to a client in May 2016. A significant shift occurred in September 2017. The Comeca Group, led by the Mesalles family, acquired 100% of Inesa Argentina. Comeca has a diverse portfolio of packaging solutions with plants across Latin America. They produce everything from corrugated cardboard and paper products to folding cartons, tinplate containers, and plastic packaging. Their main base is in Costa Rica, where they also operate a retail business of over 60 supermarkets. Today, Inesa Argentina, under the Grupo Comeca umbrella, stands as a leader in Argentina’s metal packaging industry, a testament to its continuous investment and commitment to its customers.
