Established in the vibrant heart of Rio de Janeiro, the Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras has a captivating story to tell. It all began on February 24, 1912, with a small group of 33 faithful individuals. These founders, supported by brethren from nearby churches like Santa Cruz, Madureira, and Catumbi, established the Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras. The church’s first leader was Pastor F.F. Soren. He served briefly, handing the reins to Pastor Antonio Pereira da Silva in September of the same year. Interestingly, Pastor Soren would return to lead the Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras again in 1918, adding another layer to the church’s rich history. Over the years, the Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras has grown and flourished under the guidance of numerous dedicated leaders. Pastor Eliezer Senna Quirino, a graduate of the Seminário Batista do Sul do Brasil, has served as the church’s president since 1999. His leadership, marked by love and vision, has been instrumental in shaping the church’s present and future. His wife, Dalva Quirino, a medical endocrinologist, also plays a significant role. She serves as a teacher of biblical studies within the church, further enriching the community. The Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras is more than just a place of worship. It is a vibrant community with a multitude of ministries catering to all ages and spiritual needs. From the Children’s Ministry, providing a safe and nurturing environment for the youngest members, to the Geração Master Ministry, supporting and engaging senior members, the church strives to create a sense of belonging for everyone. The church’s dedication to community extends beyond its walls through its Social Action and Prayer Ministry. This ministry demonstrates the church’s commitment to compassionate service, seeking to alleviate suffering and uphold human dignity. Whether you are a long-time member or a newcomer, the Integration Ministry at Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras ensures a warm welcome and provides support for spiritual growth and understanding. The church’s rich history, dedicated leadership, and diverse ministries make the Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras a vital part of the Rio de Janeiro community. It is a place where faith, community, and service intertwine to create a truly unique spiritual experience.
