Iglesia Nueva Vida wasn’t built overnight. It began in 1982 in Parque de los Patricios a neighborhood resistant to evangelical churches. Previous ministries had failed. Even the five small existing churches had closed. Pastor Guillermo Prein however guided by a word from God took on the challenge. He left a thriving church in the hands of a disciple to embark on this mission.
The initial struggle was intense. But by the end of 1983 the church had 100 believers. A year later that number doubled. For five years the growth was phenomenal reaching 1600 members by 1987. This remarkable expansion continued. The church flourished spiritually and ministerially. Workers rose quickly and the church expanded its reach.
Today Iglesia Nueva Vida boasts more than 30000 members. A pastoral body of 380 supports the congregation. Over 1200 prayer groups spread across the city and country connect individuals. An extensive evangelical program touches all ages and social backgrounds. It involves people in community work outreach and support in the streets hospitals prisons schools and universities through the Community Action Ministry.
