Here stands Iglesia Evangelica Misión de Cristo. This church embodies faith community and history. Are you ready to explore its story?

Iglesia Evangelica Misión de Cristo is linked to a broader religious movement. It is part of the Iglesia Presbiteriana San Andrés. This Presbyterian Church has been present in Argentina since 1829. Its roots trace back to the Protestant Reformation. Iglesia La Misión is represented in five congregations. These congregations are located in different neighborhoods of Buenos Aires.

La Misión began as a small evangelistic initiative. This initiative started in 1991. It was located in the Bajo Flores area. Pastor Miguel Angel Robles began pioneering work there. He worked on Varela Street 1153 with his wife Azucena. Their daughter Adriana and her husband Pastor Juan José Singh also helped. Finding a permanent location took time. Eventually they settled at Varela 1420. In 1997 Pastor Marcelo Robles joined to help organize La Misión. It transitioned from a mission church. It became an organized church with governing elders. This followed the Presbyterian model.

From 1998 to 2007 La Iglesia La Misión experienced significant growth. Its social ministry in southern Buenos Aires became important. This started in 2001. Projects included microenterprises, cooperatives and soup kitchens. They also focused on developing small groups and training workers. However 2007 brought challenges. The pastoral family had a car accident causing difficulties for the community.

In 2009 Pastor Marcelo Robles returned after a two-year leave. From 2007 to 2009 the Presbiterio San Andrés offered support. The pastors council of CABA also provided support and comfort. This third phase was like a replanting for the church. They revitalized their calling and mission. The community experienced healing. They renewed their commitment to the doctrines strengthening their vision for the neighborhood.

The years 2014 to 2019 saw expansion. The church multiplied into four congregations. These were in Belgrano Palermo Flores and Merlo. More elders were ordained. They helped establish each congregation. Pastor Marcos Buzzelli and his wife Mónica assisted from 2013 to 2018.

The year 2020 focused on consolidating the congregations. Their goal was to strengthen discipleship and leadership formation. The COVID-19 pandemic challenged their activities. It forced them to redefine objectives. However their mission and vision remained clear. They continued working in their congregations expecting God to work. Their focus is always on the gospel of Christ. Their eyes are set on Buenos Aires.

Iglesia Evangelica Misión de Cristo is committed to effective evangelism in a secular environment. It builds a deeply committed community. This is within a transient society. The church integrates faith into work and culture. This addresses a fragmented society. It exercises compassion mercy and justice in a polarized society. Finally it plants multiple congregations.

As you stand before Iglesia Evangelica Misión de Cristo consider its journey. Think about its dedication to spreading the gospel. Remember its commitment to the community of Buenos Aires. Its story continues.
