Amidst the bustling streets of Buenos Aires stands the Iglesia Evangelica Asamblea Cristiana. Its unassuming exterior belies a rich history. This is a place where faith took root and blossomed. It’s a story of perseverance and spiritual growth.

The Iglesia Evangelica Asamblea Cristiana is more than just a building. It’s a testament to the unwavering faith of its founders. It began in 1910. Louis Francescon Lucia Menna and Giacomo Lombardi brought Pentecostalism to Argentina. They started preaching on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Their efforts led to the creation of the first Pentecostal denomination in the country. Initially the congregation was known as Asamblea Cristiana Reunidos en Nombre de Jesus. Francescon’s journey even extended to Brazil. He shared his message there. His influence contributed to the founding of the Congregaçao Cristã in Brazil.

The Iglesia Evangelica Asamblea Cristiana’s story is one of miraculous beginnings. In 1909 Lucia Menna had a miraculous healing. Guided by divine revelation they travelled from the United States to Argentina. Their mission was to spread Pentecostalism among the Italian colonists. Their early work was impacted by the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles. This revival influenced early Pentecostal denominations around the world. This included the founders of the Assemblies of God in Brazil Daniel Berg and Gunnar Vingren.

The early converts later emigrated. However the flame of faith was rekindled. In 1915 Narciso Natucci and Francisco Anfuso felt called to missionary work in Buenos Aires. They arrived in November 1916. They initially stayed with Rosalia Anfuso de Mingrino Francisco’s sister. The Mingrino family were among the first to hear the Pentecostal message. Within eight days six people were baptized. By December 31 more than twenty people joined the growing movement. The church soon outgrew its initial space. In 1917 a larger meeting place was needed.

The Iglesia Evangelica Asamblea Cristiana has since grown and branched out. The oldest branch Asamblea Cristiana Evangelica boasts over one hundred churches nationwide. Its mother church in Villa Devoto Buenos Aires remains a central point. It has around five hundred members. Other branches have also flourished across Argentina and beyond.

Today the Iglesia Evangelica Asamblea Cristiana continues to serve its community. It’s a beacon of faith and a reminder of the power of perseverance. It’s a living testament to the enduring legacy of those who first planted its seeds of faith in the heart of Buenos Aires. It is a symbol of faith hope and love. The Iglesia Evangelica Asamblea Cristiana stands as a proud part of Buenos Aires’ rich religious tapestry.
