It began in 1958 a missionary endeavor from the United Pentecostal Church of Colombia. Today it boasts over 1029 congregations and a vast membership. In 1953 Arredondo the first messenger of God’s word in Ecuador began preaching near Santo Domingo de los Colorados. Jaramillo followed in 1957 his message echoing Arredondo’s in another area of Santo Domingo. These two men united. They proclaimed the glorious name of Jesus Christ.

Their early gatherings blossomed. News reached the Canadian missionary William Drost who with Pastor Noel Ospina performed the first baptisms in the name of Jesus. These were significant events. They marked the formal beginning of a movement that would transform religious landscapes.

More missionaries followed including Miguel Mariano Peña and his wife Beatriz who were pivotal in establishing a permanent presence in Quito and Guayaquil. They worked tirelessly despite numerous obstacles. Their faith grew the church blossomed. The church then became autonomous in 1981. Its impact continues to spread across continents.
