The transition wasn’t immediate. In 1984, the nascent parish, still referred to as a “quasi-parish,” was consecrated. This interim period highlighted the dedication of priests like Carlos Ñáñez and Marcelo Martorell, who diligently served the community. The official recognition as a parish came in 1991, with Father Martorell appointed as the first official parish priest and Father Eduardo Casas as Vicar. Classrooms for catechism, a “family hall,” and other facilities were added, enhancing the church’s role as a vital community hub.

Priests like Pablo Nassif and Diego Montiel began their journeys within this community, eventually serving in various capacities throughout the Archdiocese. In 2006, a pivotal moment arrived. Father Martorell, the church’s first parish priest, was appointed Bishop of Puerto Iguazú, a testament to the enduring impact of Iglesia Corazón Eucarístico de Jesús.
The story continues to unfold. In 2020, Father Pablo Ardiles became the Parish Administrator, ushering in a new chapter for the Iglesia Corazón Eucarístico de Jesús. This church, born from a simple chapel, continues to serve as a beacon of faith, community, and history in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires.
