Santa Ana de Nayón became a parish on June 17, 1935. Its festivals are in July. They honor Santa Anita. Parishioners brought her image from Cusco Peru. The Santuario Santa Ana de Nayón was consecrated. This happened on November 26, 2016. Father Leonardo Merino Q. did the honors.
The Santuario stands out with its design. The main facade has two lateral towers. A central tower has cathedral glass. This tower serves as a bell tower. Inside, the altar is beautiful. Images of Christ, Mary, and angels adorn it.
Santa Ana’s feast day is July 26. The community gathers. They celebrate with processions and special masses. The Santuario is in the central park of Nayón. Nayón is known as the “garden of Quito”. It has about 15000 residents.
