Here at the Huawei Centre, innovation hums in the very walls. The Huawei Centre stands tall at 120 Albert Street. This impressive tower offers a range of features right in Auckland’s CBD.

Huawei, a global ICT provider, established its Auckland office in 2005. It quickly became a key player in New Zealand’s telecommunications development. Huawei helped build mobile and fixed-line broadband networks here. They joined the government’s Ultra-Fast and Rural Broadband projects. The company also led sales of smartphones and home devices. Level 5 is known as the Iconic Huawei Centre. The floor offers 945sqm of functionality. The space includes formal offices, meeting rooms, and a boardroom. In 2017, Huawei launched the world’s first smartphone with a Te Reo Māori language operating system. Huawei won the Canstar Award for Most Satisfied Customers of Smartphones in New Zealand for its P series line.

Huawei’s commitment to New Zealand extends beyond technology. They have invested in community and sports partnerships. These include the Seeds for the Future Programme and the 100 Piano Project. Huawei also partnered with Wellington Phoenix FC and Emirates Team New Zealand. They supported Kiwis for Kiwi charity and Lance O’Sullivan’s MAiPODs.

The Auckland office has over 120 staff. Huawei New Zealand contributes over $50 million annually to the local economy. This includes wages, partnerships with local suppliers, and sub-contracting.
