The inscription on this plaque reads, “H&TC and I&GN Depots.” This is a poignant piece of history in the heart of Austin, Texas. The H&TC, or Houston and Texas Central Railroad, arrived in Austin on Christmas Day, 1871, making Austin its westernmost station. It was a proud moment.
