In 1990, a seed of faith was planted in Howick, Auckland, New Zealand. This seed blossomed into what we know today as Howick Community Church. Howick Community Church isn’t just a building. Every Sunday, the doors of Howick Community Church swing open at 120 Picton Street, welcoming people from all walks of life. The church’s motto, taken from Matthew 6:33, sets the tone: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” The heart of Howick Community Church beats strongest on Sunday mornings. The air fills with music, prayer, and readings from the Bible, culminating in an inspiring message. Before the main service, a pre-service prayer at 9:30 am invites early birds to connect with their spirituality. The main service begins at 10:00 am and lasts for approximately 90 minutes. For families, Howick Community Church offers dedicated programs. Children aged 5 to 12 can participate in “TUPU,” a dynamic program designed to nurture their faith. Younger children are welcomed into “EXPLORER,” a program tailored for their age group. A dedicated room equipped with toys and a live stream of the service allows parents to keep an eye on their little ones. After the service, the community gathers for coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, fostering connections and fellowship. The first Sunday of each month is particularly special. Howick Community Church celebrates communion, a time of reflection and remembrance. Practicalities are also well taken care of. Ample parking is available off Picton Street or Selwyn Road behind the building, accessible via the private driveway between Baileys and Noise Hairdresser. Designated disability car parks are conveniently located opposite the main entrance, and a lift ensures accessibility within the building.
