The architects behind this modern marvel were Degouy Durand and Henry. Located in Draveil, Essonne, it offered a much-needed 450 beds. The same year, a decision was made to merge it with another hospital. Hôpital Joffre, located just three kilometers away, became part of the newly formed Groupe Hospitalier Joffre-Dupuytren. The history of Hôpital Dupuytren is intertwined with its sister hospital. Hôpital Joffre originally opened in 1931 as the Sanatorium de Champrosay. It served as a crucial facility for tuberculosis patients. It transitioned in 1960 into a long and medium-stay facility for the elderly. It was renamed Hôpital Joffre. Today, Groupe Hospitalier Joffre-Dupuytren is part of a larger network. It’s now under the umbrella of the AP-HP. Hôpitaux Universitaires Henri Mondor provides oversight.
