“Home” is more than just a building. It is a feeling that Hope of Seattle Church embodies. This church is more than bricks and mortar. It is a vibrant community. It shares the love of Jesus Christ.
Hope of Seattle Church welcomes people from all walks of life. Its mission is simple. Create a welcoming environment. Here, people can experience God’s transforming love. The church believes everyone has a purpose. It empowers people to discover their God-given potential.
Pastor Jirote Bongkotmart or “JR” leads this community. He was born in Thailand. He has multiple degrees. These include a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership. Pastor JR and his wife Warinda “Sung” have two daughters. He is passionate about faith. He wants people to love God and His word. He encourages love for the Body of Christ. He inspires neighbors. He wants people to give their lives to fulfill the Great Commandment. He encourages the Great Commission for Jesus.
The church started as a home group. The Holy Spirit moved. Many accepted Jesus. The house could no longer hold everyone. They moved to Green Lake Community Center. Later, they met at Northway Square East Building. In 2015, God promised them a church building.
Six years later in 2021, God fulfilled His promise. They purchased a church building. It was a Chinese church in Seattle. Now, they have a place to call home.
Hope of Seattle Church is part of Hope International Ministries. This started in Thailand in 1981. Ordinary people had a vision. They wanted to do extraordinary things for God. They extended the frontiers of His Kingdom. They planted seed churches. In 1989, the first church outside Thailand was planted.
Over time, churches were planted in other countries. These churches became Hope of God International. In 2009, it was renamed Hope International Ministries. This change reflected their past and embraced their future. Christ remained central. They aptly named it HIM.
Today, they are in over 120 locations worldwide. The churches are diverse. They include people from many ethnic groups and cultures. All worship and serve God together. They enjoy meaningful relationships. As a church family, they share a commitment. They help each other fulfill the Great Commission. They actively plant churches.
Hope of Seattle Church is also part of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. They are a community church.
