Once two locations, now one thriving community. Hope Church – Hounslow welcomes all. It stands as a testament to faith and community spirit.
Hope Church – Hounslow has a unique history. It is one church with two locations. These are St Paul’s on Bath Road and Good Shepherd on Beavers Lane.
St Paul’s Church boasts a rich history. For over 100 years it has been a part of Hounslow. It closed for worship in 2011. But it reopened in October 2012. This was through a partnership with Holy Trinity Hounslow. Also involved were St Stephen’s in Twickenham and Holy Trinity Brompton.
Rev’d Libby Etherington led the plant team from 2012 to 2017. Rev’d Claire Clarke now leads the work. Her mission is growing this new expression of St Paul’s.
Hope Church Hounslow isn’t just about Sunday services. They meet throughout the week. Sometimes for church, sometimes for prayer. Other times, they gather for coffee and a chat. It’s a place for everyone. Wondering or worshipping, all are welcome.
The church’s vision is simple. Love Jesus. Love our church community. Love Hounslow West. They are working in an area of mixed economy. Many struggle financially and emotionally in this area. They would like to do more. They are inviting local businesses and individuals to get involved. This support can be practical and financial.
Since Autumn 2021, they have been officially known as Hope Church Hounslow. One church but two locations. One on Bath Road and the other on Beavers Lane.
Hope Church Hounslow offers various services. They have a community supermarket. It offers food support. There is also a Play Cafe. This is a friendly café for parents with pre-school children.
Free emergency food packages are also available. They provide these to people in need. Every week a free light lunch is provided. Donations are welcome.
Hope Church Hounslow aims to be a visible, growing community. It offers a relaxed atmosphere. All ages, ethnicities and backgrounds are actively involved.
They connect with those who live and work locally. Hope Church makes the gospel accessible in West London. This is a multicultural and diverse area.
Hope Church Hounslow safeguards children and adults at risk. They create a safe environment for all. The Diocese of London supports them.
