Perhaps you’ve heard whispers of a school that prides itself on shaping young boys into well-rounded men. That place is Homefield Preparatory School. Homefield Prep asked TaskSpace to help with the interior design. TaskSpace fitted out 13 new classrooms. They also designed 2 libraries and an IT room. These facilities were part of a phased building redevelopment. The project included a large extension to provide more learning space. Homefield Prep wanted a classroom design unique to them. The design also needed to be consistent across the school. Bespoke classroom storage was designed to declutter the classrooms. It also served as an undistracting front-of-class provision. The storage housed the projector systems. The storage systems are adjustable. TVs can be installed in the classrooms in the future.
In the two library spaces, there needed to be a contrast. One library is upstairs, and one is downstairs. Both libraries needed to be inspiring without being overpowering. They also had to provide a journey through the school. This journey had to be recognizable for the students. Angus Harper, the Bursar, recommends TaskSpace. He said they create lively and purposeful environments for teaching and learning.
Homefield Preparatory School is proud of its alumni. Many noted alumni have passed through its school. They include England rugby player Charlie Sharples and cricketers Sir Colin Cowdrey and David Balcombe. Artist Graham Sutherland and actor Ben Barnes also attended. The school has archived Homefield material collected over the years.
