It started in 1998, a vision much larger than the small group of 37 adults who dared to dream it. They yearned for a church that would influence the soul of Chicago. They were led by pastors David R. Helm and Jon M. Dennis. They established their first humble gathering in the shadow of the University of Chicago. The Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church wasn’t content with just existing. It envisioned a city transformed by the Gospel. They wanted to be a catalyst for change, not just a flicker, but a roaring fire. Their vision extended beyond the church walls, reaching into the heart of Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods. By 2009, the Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church expanded to four congregations: North, West, South, and Center, embracing the city’s vibrant tapestry.
