Welcome to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, a beacon of faith and community in Minneapolis. The church was initially affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) for almost eight decades. Driven by a desire to authentically express their vision, they sought a different path. Holy Cross voted, almost unanimously, to transition their affiliation to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). A defining moment occurred in 2019, when the Minneapolis Area Synod Council voted to accept Holy Cross into the synod, marking a new chapter in their story. In April 2022, they were officially welcomed into the ELCA at the Synod Assembly, a testament to their commitment to belonging and inclusivity. Holy Cross Lutheran Church has always believed in serving God by working for justice and peace. They encourage individuals to respect diverse faith traditions, offering a place where people can feel loved and supported. Their mission is to lighten the load, offering a place to belong.
