Established in 1875 Hobsonville School boasts a rich history. Initially housed in a private residence the school found a temporary home in the beautiful Hobsonville Church. This was in 1876. Nearly two decades later in 1894 the school moved to its current location on Hobsonville Road.

In 1853 the government purchased 600 acres. They renamed it Port Hobsonville after Captain William Hobson. This area became known for its air base.
