Did you know that the institution we stand before, Hiroshima Kokusai Gakuin University Kamiseno Campus, was once a thriving hub for both humanities and sciences? Sadly, it closed its doors in 2023. The university, known in Japanese as Hiroshima kokusai gakuin daigaku, had a rich history. It all began in 1927 with its predecessor institution. The journey continued as it became a junior college in 1964 and then a four-year college in 1967. Hiroshima Kokusai Gakuin University, despite its closure, stands as a testament to the ever-changing landscape of education and the impact of declining student numbers. It serves as a reminder of the importance of adaptation and the bittersweet nature of time’s passage.
