“This is it, folks, Heritage Baptist Church in Haslet, Texas.” It’s a remarkable story of unwavering faith and community building that stretches back to the year 2000. Pastor Crawford had a vision. He wanted to build a church in this growing community. He believed that people needed a place to connect, to find solace, and to grow spiritually. He was driven by a sense of duty, believing that the church has a role in shaping communities, and that starts with bringing people together in faith. And on August 27, 2000, Heritage Baptist Church held its first Sunday service in the Haslet Community Center. It was a humble beginning, but it marked the start of a remarkable journey. Soon, the church moved from its original storefront to a small property on FM 156. The year 2001 was a turning point. Full of faith, Heritage Baptist Church purchased the land on which the present-day campus stands. It was a bold move, showing the confidence that the church had in its future, a vision that was quickly becoming reality. The congregation flourished. By 2006, Heritage Baptist Church opened its doors on FM 156, marking a major milestone. And this was only the beginning. As the church grew, it became clear that they needed a larger space to accommodate their growing congregation. They invested in building a 600-seat auditorium and numerous Sunday School classrooms, fulfilling the vision of community building that had propelled them from day one. In 2014, Pastor Crawford, always looking toward the future, established Heritage Christian Academy, a school designed to cultivate faith and knowledge in younger minds. And as Heritage Baptist Church continued to grow, they expanded again with the addition of an Activity Center in 2016. This center houses a youth wing, high school classrooms, and a sports facility, providing a space for all ages to engage and learn. The church has since started a daycare and preschool, becoming an integral part of the community.
