What began as a small church has grown into a global ministry. The Hegewisch Baptist Church stands here. It’s a testament to faith and deliverance.

Hegewisch Baptist Church focuses on evangelism. It emphasizes healing and freedom from evil spirits. People flock here seeking help. The church has grown significantly by word of mouth. It doesn’t rely on typical church programs.

The Hegewisch Baptist Church believes in the inerrancy of Scripture. It believes salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ. This church believes in spiritual gifts. Originally, it was a Southern Baptist church. It later became independent.

Win Worley pastored Hegewisch Baptist Church. He compiled books about deliverance beginning in 1970. These accounts of casting out evil spirits spread widely. They reached the United States and foreign countries.

His book “Battling the Hosts of Hell – Diary of an Exorcist” has been translated. It’s available in Spanish, German, and French. Worley also wrote “Conquering the Hosts of Hell – An Open Triumph.” “Demolishing the Hosts of Hell – Every Christian’s Job” followed.

Later works include “Annihilating the Hosts of Hell – The Battle Royale, Books 1 & 2.” Also “Eradicating the Hosts of Hell – Uprooting the Hidden Enemy.” And “Smashing the Hosts of Hell – The Believer’s Privilege.” He even addressed addiction with “The Alcoholic Syndrome.” Later, he wrote “Grappling with the Hosts of Hell – The Warfare Today.” His writings concluded with “Freedom from the Hosts of Hell – A Promise for Believers.”

Pastor Worley traveled extensively. He introduced and demonstrated the deliverance ministry. He appeared on TV and radio talk shows. He spoke at meetings, churches, and Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowships. He also held seminars and camps.

Worley was an ordained Southern Baptist minister. He pastored churches since 1947. He held degrees from East Texas Baptist University and Northeastern Illinois State University. He did graduate work at other colleges. He attended Dallas Theological Seminary.

Deliverance ministry began at Hegewisch Baptist Church in 1970. Within a year, 1000 first-time visitors came annually. They came without publicity. Visitors came from around the world. They sought deliverance from evil spirits. They also wanted to learn how to minister deliverance.

Michael Thierer took over in 1996. He had been a member since 1979. Thierer has taught globally. He visited Australia, Venezuela, and Cuba. He has also been to Jamaica, Canada, Africa, Europe, Indonesia, Borneo, and Malaysia. He taught about Jesus. He explained freedom through Deliverance Ministry. He emphasized a right relationship with their Savior. Pastor Thierer has maintained the course set by Pastor Worley at Hegewisch Baptist Church.
