Let me guide you through its history. The Hasanağa Nakilbent Cami was commissioned by Hacı Hasan Ağa. He was the sword-bearer of Çandarlı Halil Pasha. Its construction dates back to the reign of Bayezid II between 1481 and 1498. Imagine this sacred space rising from the ground over what was once a simple cellar. That cellar later became a cold storage.
Time has not been kind to the Hasanağa Nakilbent Cami. In 1912 a devastating fire turned the mosque into ruins. For years it remained a forgotten shell. But the spirit of the community persevered. Through donations and collective effort the Hasanağa Nakilbent Cami was reborn. It was restored and reopened for worship.
