Founded in 1984 Harvest International Church stands before you. It began as a small home Bible study. Pastor Edgar Banaga answered God’s call. He started leading studies in the homes of Filipino families in San Jose California. In 1991 the Filipino Christian Church was born. Twenty-eight members gathered for their first Sunday service. This marked a significant moment in the church’s history.

The church grew rapidly. It moved several times to accommodate its expanding congregation. It received its charter under the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1992. It became the first Filipino Pentecostal Holiness Church in the USA. One hundred and fifty people attended the chartering service. Rev James Leggett officially organized the church.

In the early 2000s the church’s name changed. It became Harvest International Christian Church. It expanded to reach the entire Bay Area. The church continued to grow. It eventually found a permanent location. They moved into their current building in March 2013. A second service was added in 2014. The building was expanded to handle the larger crowds.

The pandemic brought about new challenges. The church began online streaming in 2020. This allowed them to continue serving their community during the lockdown. In-person services continued as well. In 2021 Pastors Edgar and Rosana Banaga transitioned to full-time missionaries in Asia. Long-time members and ministry leaders Pastors Aleli and Henry Sangalang became the new senior pastors in 2023. The church continues to thrive under their leadership. Harvest International Church stands as a testament to faith perseverance and growth. It is a beacon of hope and spiritual guidance in Manila. It’s a place where people gather to worship and serve. It continues to impact the lives of countless individuals.
