Adventure awaits at Hartkopf Park. This isn’t just a park. It’s a story etched in green spaces and community spirit. Hartkopf Park, a 24.6-acre haven, is located in Brooklyn Park.

Imagine this park’s transformation. Old baseball fields are now a versatile green space. This space is perfect for soccer, cricket, and casual play. A new parking lot eases access to the park’s east end. Nature inspires the play area. Kids can explore climbing structures, swings, and natural elements.

Shoot hoops on the brand-new basketball courts. Whether you’re a pro or a beginner, these courts offer fun. Gather loved ones at the upgraded picnic area. Ample space, tables, and grills create lasting memories. Illuminated trails extend adventures beyond daylight. Enjoy a walk under the stars. Two restroom buildings provide comfort.

Hartkopf Park’s journey began in Spring 2020. Construction documents were finalized in December 2020. Work commenced in April 2021. Most improvements were done by December 2021. The finishing touches arrived in July 2022. Brooklyn Park residents generously supported this revitalization. A $26 million Park Bond Referendum in November 2018 made it possible.

The park is open year-round from dawn to dusk. People with disabilities can easily access it.

Remember the master plan. It updated the park with multi-purpose green space. It created an official cricket field. Parking was added to the east end. Two restroom buildings enhance convenience. The nature play area sparks imagination. Basketball courts promote activity. Enhanced picnicking facilities invite gatherings. Trail lighting extends usability year-round.

Before its renewal, Hartkopf Park offered simple pleasures. There was sledding in winter. The city recommended it as one of the best sledding hills. An older playground featured a woodchip floor. Its play structure used recycled materials. A picnic shelter could be reserved. A baseball diamond hosted games. A tennis court awaited players. Trails beckoned for family walks.

The park is located at 8601 Florida Ave N. Remember it is a place for community and recreation. As you leave Hartkopf Park, take with you the feeling of a vibrant community. Cherish the memories made in this revitalized space.
